Vanilla Ice Cream

Call it what you will, French Vanilla, Double Vanilla, Vanilla Bean, it's still...vanilla. I can't recall ever liking vanilla ice cream because it was plain. I am not a plain sort of girl. I won't even drink milk unless there is something in it, be it chocolate, cinnamon or, and this will show you just how loopy I really am, vanilla.

Vanilla ice cream is the vehicle by which the [insert topping of choice here] finds its way in your mouth. Chocolate (sauce or morsels) , whipping cream, strawberries, peaches, mangoes, bananas.

Why am I bringing up vanilla ice cream you ask? I have nothing against vanilla ice cream per se. It is just too plain, too vanilla. A little like this blog right now which is why the commentary spewed forth. Because I don't know how to hit the make pretty button. Can't find the sauce. Or the fruit. Or the colorful sprinkles.

I refuse to drink plain milk too! It drives everyone who knows me absolutely insane. All of my out-of-town relatives hate it when I visit because they have to buy chocolate sauce. It's gotten to the point where I just bring my own. It's nice to know I'm not the only one.

I can tolerate vanilla ice cream, but it's ridiculously boring in comparison to every other flavor. Unfortunately, I grew up in a household crippled by my brother's seething hatred for every flavor BUT vanilla :( Seeing another flavor in the freezer always made my heart skip beats.

I don't know what it is about milk and me...I don't mind it when it is ice cold so much but only on rare occasions. I used to put a glass in the freezer for awhile and then put the milk in it. That wasn't bad. And my kids like non-fat milk so...yuck. It's like drinking water to me.

I also tolerate vanilla ice cream but only if it has something on it. Chocolate would be my first choice definitely!
